they can also eat bloodworms. Be careful feeding live feeder fish most arent kept in very good condition at your local fish store and could lead to your fish getting parasites and disease… it also makes them more aggressive.

Red Devils are omniverous, which means that they eat all kinds of stuff. Veggies are fine, but you really should leave the live feeders to the pikes, peacock bass, and gars. Save your money and buy Spectrum Jumbo or XL formula and that is all you really need.

Good answers from both craig and five here. In addition to above, consider krill and really cutting back those live feeders. Unless you have a reliable source you know cares well for those feeders, I’d really avoid using them. I lost too many really expensive fish, including my rare to the USA yellow tailed Arowana because a parasite snuck in via live feeders I was giving my Datnoid Tiger Barb.

You could get worms from a bait shop, if your Devil is big enough. Mine is still somewhat small (around 6 or 7 inches) so i feed mine goldfish and pellets mostly.
