Betta Breeding?

I have a healthy female, which i have had for several several months, and an equally healthy male betta fish. She has a large tummy (eggs) so i am trying to breed them. the only problem, mr. big stuff makes bubble nests all the time but now he wont do it. I put a styra foam cup in there and … nothing. He’s in a 10 gallon aquarium……

so whats the problem. I have brine shrimp hatcheries ready to go for the baby’s.
the temp. is around 80 degrees

  1. If the water parameters are all in check, and the tank is properly cycled, just give your male more time, he will get it eventually. I recommend a very low flow filter, as the media is were most nitrifying bacteria grow.

it isnt automatic, it will take time.

Many males will like to lfare frst for a few days andget into the breedngmode.

    so give it time,

  3. Check your water temperature, keep your water temp at arounf 78F. Bettas will not breed if the water temp is below 75F.
Prepare infusoria culture as well, you will need to feed this to the fry during the first few days after the have become free swimming before they are big enough to consume hewly hatched BBS.
