Brine shrimp are actually not salt water. Brine is basically uber salt water, it has a higher salt content then water you’d normally take from an ocean. The water is basically saturated with salt.
We feed them to fish, freshwater included because they are an excellent food with nutrition and roughage. When you feed them live, you have usually rinse them off in freshwater before plunking them in the tank. So there is very little salt transfer.
