I have tetramin tropical crisps for my neon tetras. They seem happy with them, but I would like to supplement their diet with other things to keep them healthy. What are some good options to round out their diet and don’t have the chance of carrying NTD into the tank? If I do brine shrimp, should they be freeze dried or live (husband has sea monkeys)?
You can try frozen blood worms. Fish LOVE them. Also if you check Petco they have lots of different supplements to enhance color, etc. It sounds like your neons have a wonderful owner! Congrats!
Had neons and other fish multiple times.

Frozen or freezedried bloodworms are good. I prefer frozen, as they look more real! Just chip off a tiny amount, thaw, and put in (I put them in with tweezers). They’re perfect size for neons – it looks like they’re eating spaghetti!
Brine shrimp from your husbands tank would be fine, they’ve all been introduced safely from a packet. I’ve never heard of freezedried brine shrimp, but if you can find some, go for it! Frozen brine shrimp is also fine
