I have betta fry it has been 7 days since they hatched. There is about 50. They are swimming around and seem to be doing really well. The reason I ask how long they will live if not feed is – I only have frozen baby brine shrimp, the reason for this is the girl who works in the fish shop I go to said they would eat it no problems, she has always given me good advise, but when I was doing my research before breeding everyone said I should have live food like microworms or brine shrimp etc. The fish seem to be growing well, it is hard for me to see if there stomachs are full or not. I would like to know if they would be dead by now if they were not eating. I also did the boiled egg thing yesterday and gave them one feed of that.
not too long mate, they’ll starve to death. When i’m having trouble i find’elodia’provides micro-colonies wich they can eat.So put some in with them&do the egg yolk/they’ll get something into them, you’ll see.
Keep it very clean(remove uneaten food)
Good luck

They will weaken and die off about now.
You can buy ‘Liquifry’ to feed them but at 7 days they should be eating baby brine shrimp and microworm.
You should have started your BBS hatchery when they were laid. Do it now before it is too late. You add the BBS eggs to some salty water (warm) and stick an airline in. They hatch within 24hours and you can suck them up, rinse them in tank water and drop them in. You can buy a ready made microworm tub on ebay for a dollar or so.
They are too small to eat brine shrimp. They eat BABY brine shrimp. Remember that most live foods are too big for them at this stage.
Drop a deskinned pea into the tank (squish it a bit first) and see if they will eat at it but it doesn’t look good.
