  1. When I had bettas, I fed them betta food that is specifically made for them. It helped in keeping their color. n

26 years of keeping and spawning many different species of tropical fish and cichlids. 25 tanks up and running at present (partial water changes done every week to 10 days). Mostly cichlids and scavengers right now with 5 tanks devoted to various freshwater crustaceans. I have worked in both the retail and wholesale tropical fish business.

  2. Very superior diet! If only all ebttas were fed this way 90% of the betta problems we see would disappear.

  3. It sounds like you are doing great but you may want to consider feeding him less frozen and live foods, as these are considered “treats”. And replace some afternoon “treats” with pellets. Other than that, your betta sounds like he’s thriving.

  4. WoW! Too bad everyone doesn’t spoil their fish like you! This is a very good diet! First, you aren’t overfeeding and second you vary the food every day. If you’re as conscientious and concerned about all the other aspects of his care, I’m not surprised that he looks healthy and active. Good job!

  5. His diet sounds great! Bio-Gold pellets work as an excellent staple, and the variety of treats is amazing. The only thing that might be possible to change is: you might want to consider fasting him once a week. It does sound like he gets a lot of rich treats over the week and a fast for one day will clean out his digestive system. It’s not necessary, just something you might want to consider. Other than that, well done!
