My green puffer fish wont eat, I got him 5 days ago. I tried feeding him small snails,?

brine shrimp and frozen blood worms. All the other fish in my 55 gal tank eat it up and he wont pay attention to the food. He swims around the tank and doesn’t seem sick. I have started brackishing the water have live plants, hiding places etc. I dont want him to die. Help. His tank mates are 2 silver dollars, 2 kissing fish, a pleco and 3 mollies. I looked at his teeth and dont seem overgrown in any way. He is still very small about 1 inch and his belly is white.

  1. Well i got one and it ate the fist day but then it would put the food in his mouth and the just spit it out and swim away and i had 2 glo fish and 3 sharks in there but the lady said the could go together but then in about 4 days of me having him he died and we went somewhere else and they said that they have to live alone or with other puffer fish……oh and do you know if they puff up or not?

  2. try live black worms. green spotted puffers are picky eaters and will ignore foods they dont like and yes green spoted puffers do puff up but it is very stressful to it and can kill it

  3. Let your fish get use to your new home, maybe he will start eating soon.

First you need to either give away the other tank mates, or set up another tank. Only the mollies will be able to live with the Puffer, and even then, when the puffer gets older he will most likely kill them.
What are you using to make the water brackish? Aquarium salt won’t work- you need actual Marine Salt, but adding this will kill the silver dollars, kissing fish, and pleco.
Brine Shrimp and Blood worms are not an appropriate diet for a Green Spotted Puffer. They need hard shelled meaty foods, like clams, scallops, and crabs. The snails are also important. When feeding snails you could try smashing them against the glass so that the puffer will notice them.
