Could they be mosquito larvae? I would remove them regardless. They were not invited and could be a pest humans don’t need. I’m surprised that your fish haven’t eaten them. Have a great year.

Are you sure that they are not teeny little Angel fish? Look for an eye spot. If the have a tiny spot on the lager end they are some sort of fry. It’s odd that the other fish ignore them. I seem to remember that one of the gourami family will eat hydra but I’m not sure which one.Then again it might all be hallucination. Come to think of it , Hydra don’t swim around they pretty much stay where they grow or walk(?) around on their stems. I,d try some of the fish forums on the net. PeeTee

You most likely have fish lice. Seriously, they look like little lice and they can be seen especially in the gravel. they are parasites and will attach to the skin of fish and cause sores. The worms sound like microworms, another parasite. Sounds like you need a better filter, and a cleaner tank. You also need to get some parasite medicine at the pet store ASAP!

Yes, grown fish can eat eggs or baby fish. But, then maybe a few survived. They very well could be babies. But, if they are actually clinging to the glass, it’s definitely not baby fish. Fish lice attach themselves to the fish, so, if these critters are swimming around, I doubt it’s fish lice. Here is a site on hydra. Check it out, see if it sounds like what you have. Angels are part of the cichlid family so they should be good parents. If these are fry then the adult fish would be protecting them from the other fish in the tank. If they aren’t then they are a pest.
Fish lice are big and ugly and squishy- not really wormy
