a big container would work.

You’ll need to add salt to the water to get the eggs to hatch and baby shrimp to survive. This can be rock salt, but I prefer using sea salt. You should also have an air pump with an air stone to bubble air through the water. You can make your own “hatchery” by using a clean 2 liter soda bottle. There are instructions on how to do this, and to mix the saltwater and hatch the shrimp in these links:

I’ve also hatched the shrimp in a large bowl with the airstone in it. Just make sure the water level is a few inches below the top of the container because the saltwater makes the bubbles “pop” more, and this splashes out the water, and salt in it can damage metal objects it hits. Salt also has a tendency to “creep” by following water up and out of the container to collect around the base. If you use someting that sits on furniture, use a dish or plant pot under it to help prevent any damage.
