Hello, im not sure to your question..but i use to work out on the great salt lake collecting brine shimp eggs..what a cool job that was..tons of money in it also!
Brine shrimp eat phytoplankton, tiny plants that are like dust in the water. I suppose the light helps them see their dinner.
Lots of years, lots of fish, lots of tanks now.
