Eliza (Fairy Shrimp)
Eliza hebben we voor het eerst gespot op 8/11 en we dachten eigenlijk dat het en jonge Triops was…. Tot een paar dagen terug haar vormen duidelijk werden en zij verdacht veel op een Fairy Shrimp begon te lijken…. Ze doet het tot nu toe in ieder geval erg goed!

In this video try and find the fairy shrimp, mosquito larvae, water mites, copepods, chironomid midges, and so much more! Macroinvertebrates are key to the vernal pool ecosystem as they help decompose the leaf litter and provide food for amphibians, reptiles, and birds.

Catching fairy shrimp, p2
Out at dusk in the Eldorado Valley lake bed outside Las Vegas. Standing in what remains of the 4sq mile lake filled from winter rains, the shrimp are hopping in the shallow pools.
