Sea Monkeys are brine shrimp. They are very small and very boring. When I was a kid, I got some because they were pictured as cute little humanoid creatures wearing crowns and carrying tridents. The box said you can teach them to do tricks. I bought them and was very sad they were brine shrimp. A week later they were all dead and the bowl smelled up the room.

sea monkeys are very much not extinct. they are very common organisms. they look like little little itty bitty tiny shrimp, a couple millimeters long, because that is what they are. brine shrimp. naming them sea monkeys was a marketing ploy to get kids to get their parents to buy them as pets. if you need any for your project, i guarantee you they will have some at your local fish store.

What and how many fish are you feeding them too? Are you feeding them to fry or adults? Most adult fish can eat tons of them because they are so small and fry need pretty much constant food so if there is a whole lot of shrimp it is ok, they will survive for a while in the fish tank untill they get eaten. Also if you provide aeration for the shrimp hatchery they will live longer than a couple of days.

LOL.. that's totally normal and nothing to worry about. Feed all that you can from this batch ( they will live several days) and use like half as many eggs next time. Eventually you will get the amount of eggs that's right for you down pat.

Another option is to freeze them. Use a brine shrimp net and siphon the shrimp from the hatching container through the net and place them in fresh water. Then pop them in the freezer in feeding size portions. An ice cube tray is great for this. A little water in each section of the tray and a feeding portion of shrimp in each section, then you have ready to feed frozen baby brine... comes in handy.

It would be wise to learn to do your own research - this is what they really want to teach you in school.. In this day and age all it takes is a three second google search:
