Well maybe you should get a hamster,bunny or mouse.
I mean,maybe your parents don’t want you to have a RAT but maybe some other pet,like mine.My mom went BALLISTIC he I told her I wanted a mouse or a rat but when I told her I’d get a hamster,she was okay.
Try cleaning up your friends pet’s cages and your room for 2 or 3 weeks.I think your parents will say yes to you,for maybe a hamster,I mean.

Your parents might be worried that they’ll be the ones cleaning the cage, even though they say they’re worried about you. Also, even though rats can be great pets, some people might see them just as pests or have the wrong idea about them. Ask your parents if it’s the type of pet you want or if it’s just having a new pet, period, that’s making them say no.

Continue bringing up the idea of having a new pet rat, so they know you are serious about having one. Also, If you have any other pets, start pitching in a little more, so they know you are capable of having a rat. You could also present your parents with some of the information you have on rats, so they know a little more about them. Good luck, and I hope you are successfully at convincing your parents to allow you to keep a rat.
