Artemia grows in salt lakes. Very high concentrations of salts. They didnt have predators, so it is not natural for any fish to found “Artemias” just passing by, ready to be eaten. Every baby Sea-Monkey born is an Artemia saved for fish food. An opportunity to be alive! Join the club!

They’ll have a pouch under their stomach.
This pouch is very noticeable and is quite huge.
And if you look closely you could see pink or clear eggs.

That looks like artemia… I feed them to fish, it never occured to me to keep them as pets.
