Hi
You could email the company and see what alternatives there are, I am sure you could get some kind of fish food that would work. Or you can order products from this site, and it is reasonable…

Did you know your Sea Monkeys are actually a hybrid type of Brine Shrimp – but they aren’t technically a shrimp but are something called a branchiopod? (Regular Brine Shrimp’s scientific name is Artemia salina and the hybrid Sea Monkey is named Artemia nyos) The come from salt lakes etc – hence the word brine in their name.
From what I understand, Brine Shrimp like to eat Algae. I read online that the actual contents of that starter package of food that is sold for Sea Monkey’s contains a very nutritious form of algae called Spirulina (people and animals both eat it) and yeast. The “boost” packages they sell contain salts etc to help the Sea Monkeys get in the mood to reproduce.
So if you have run out of food – it sounds like algae would be the ideal food of choice – mixed with yeast. Local health food stores do sell spirulina for humans. Grocery stores sell yeast. However, I also read that you can feed the following: wheat flour, soybean powder and egg yolk. When I have baby fish – I feed them boiled egg yolk. (I boil an egg and take a teeny tiny little bit of the boiled yolk mashed up with water and pour it into the fishies – they love it – i never feed raw egg simply from a health standpoint)
Hope this gives you some ideas. If you need more info – read up on Brine Shrimp and you’ll get more info yet!
Good luck!

Here is a link for some great info on sea monkeys and also on how to order their food. (2 separate links). I hope this helps! (Don’t you just love these guys? I bought them for my daughter and I think I’m having more fun with them then she is!!) Also, I haven’t found any site that says what you can feed these things BESIDES the food that you order for them. I do know however that they are a hybrid of brine shrimp. I would think that the algae growth (on the bottom of the cup) would be enough to sustain them for a while, but I cannot say for sure. Best of luck! ;o)
