I did a little searching and can’t really find much other than they only live up to 2 years. I got an “ecosphere” as a gift 8 years ago and it had about 5 sea monkeys (aka “brine shrimp”) in it, and they all died off after about 1-3 years except for 1, who is living forever (vampire sea monkey?! haha). I keep him in his ecosphere in the back of my open cabinet in the bathroom behind some figurines so it doesn’t get too much light. I saw if it gets too much light, the algae grows too much so he lives almost in the near-dark. It keeps the algae from overgrowing. I feel kinda bad for him…. Maybe I should try to get a world record or something?
Just to note: an ecosphere is a totally sealed glass egg shaped thing, about 80% filled with water, and little rocks at the bottom. Airtight, you can’t open it. The point is that it’s an entire ecosystem, with the sun feeding the algae, and the algae creating oxygen and food for the sea monkey’s, and so on. Anyone else have an old seamonkey, or ever heard of this?
