Which pet 2 get?

Any pet! Nothing huge…biggest one can be a rat! DEFINATLY no horses, cats, dogs, guenia pigs exc. I have all of those already exept the horse…it’s too big! I have one small fish and sea-monkeys too. If you pick a fish, make it a betta at the largest, no baby fish, nothing that takes hours of your day to take care of!

Can i use the airpump for my betta in my sea monkeys tank? Its automatic….?

LIke can i just stick it in for a minute and then take it out or can i keep it in there? its not conveniant for me to buy a air pump made for sea monkeys as they dont sell it in retail stores seperatly and i cant mail or internet order.

The New Aquarium, home to 100+ betta babies.

Here is the new 10 gallon home of our betta babies. You can see they are all different sizes, and despite being mostly red (like mom and dad) there are some dark blue ones and a few albino-ish ones as well. This video shows them munching away on live baby brine shrimp. Hatching baby brine shrimp is a topic (and a video) for another day!

My Betta “Tweet”

A little introduction to Betta keeping and also to my male CrownTale “Tweet”. He is in a Marineland Eclipse 3 gallon heated/filtered aquarium. No chemicals are added to his aquarium except water purifier and aquarium salt. I do not use any PH up/down. The water in my area tends to be on the hard side and the PH is quite high. I use Indian Almond Leaves to adjust the PH in his tank. This mimics the bettas natural environment. His tank is kept at exactly 79 degrees Fahrenheit. I do 25% water changes weekly. In order to slow down the current to his tank I use Fluval aquarium foam as a baffle in the filter. “Tweet” is fed a variety of foods, including Hakari Gold pellets (pre-soaked, of course), frozen brine shrimp, and frozen blood worms. He is also fasted for one day a week in order to prevent constipation.

Betta Drip System

Here is my mini betta drip system. Took me 2.5 weeks to put it together. It started off with just buidling shelves for my betta beanie cases. This shelf is for my show bettas, and my breeders, so I feed them heavily on black worms, frozen blood worms, brine shrimp…so i needed daily water changes. One day, I said to myself, I’m tired of doing daily water changes and sometimes I can’t due to schedule conflict. So I said, heck! I’m going to build a betta drip system. =) So, I based my design off my already made shelves. Started brainstorming, drawing some rough drafts, and just started building. I made a lot of changes from my original plan, but heck, I’m not an engineer. I just build things, and if I run into issues, I fix it or fabricate what I can to make it work. And this is what I came up with, and it works GREAT! Pump: Pond Master Mag Drive Pump 350 Max GPH Piping: 1/2 inch PVC Piping Return: Gutter Drains (Fabricated to work) Tank Used: 20L gallons I have 5 valves to control flow and adjust water flow. More updates to come later. Just gotta do some touch up work to it, and add a box filter to filter any debris, and add the finishing touch and then start drilling the beanie case over flows.

This is my new baby whale. There were 3 at the store and I got the biggest one (almost 4 inches) hoping that he would be the least likely to get picked on by the white angel. When I first got him he would hide in the pipe all night and day, but eventually I lured him out one night with food and he has been fine since. During the day he only comes out for a minute at a time to look for food then he goes back in the pipe decoration. He now spends all night swimming around the tank. Ever since I added him to my tank the angel fish calmed down and stopped picking on the smaller fish and the whale is a lot calmer around the fish. So far he has been eating shrimp pellets and live brine shrimp. I may move him into his own 20 gallon tank soon though due to crowding in the 29 gallon and the fact that I don’t want to be feeding my pig angel expensive live food everyday. I filmed this with the camcorder’s light on and he didn’t seem to mind too much luckily.
