21 All King Solomon’s drinking vessels were gold, and all the vessels of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were pure gold. If evolution were true, don’t you think God would have admitted it? Wouldn’t He have just cleared everything up by saying, “Billions of years ago, I created the Earth. Then I made some sea creatures like shellfish and scaly fish. Then I made amphibians, which I made turn into reptiles, then I made mammals. Then I took one of the mammals, a monkey, and made an ape out of it. Then I took the ape and changed its brain and voice box and made it stand up. Then I made humans out of them.” If you saw that written, wouldn’t you just think the Bible was the greatest book ever written, and historically “accurate”?
Maybe the reason why He DIDN’T write that is because it isn’t true?
So far, I see three major misunderstandings of the Bible:
1) “two” genesis accounts (there’s only one – the other is focusing in on one day)
2) Eve was created from Adam’s rib – Adam was created from dust
3) Evolution is a “fact”
4) It was written by “goatherders” 2,000 years ago. It was written by a variety of people from different educational levels and social statuses. The guy who wrote Genesis was the most educated of them all. It was written over a period of 1500 years, and most of the authors never met each other, and yet it is all one cohesive unit, with different books playing off each other and complementing each other. Not possible by human effort alone.
