Announcement! (not a question per se) I FINALLY have sea-monkey babies!!!!!!?

I asked a question earlier about replacing them…. So I thought I’d update. So the eggs finally did hatch, I suppose the white specks I saw that I thought were dead sea monkey’s was something else. I have a ton of babies now, and I am surprised they are alive. They have dog hair, lint, a few flakes of betta food in it (I’ll explain in a second ) and a scoop of growth food in there! But they seem to be doing good. I got angry when I saw that when I put the eggs in on the day I was supposed to (30 mins early because my mom got anxious and wanted to see the babies) When I put the eggs in, I stirred and suddenly it was like a wet snow, there was litle flecks of white flling all over the tank, I thought these were seamonkeys, and if they were, I knew they were dead, because aside from falling to the bottom, they never moved (I had no idea what baby sea monkey’s looked like, so I thought these white flecks were them) I start crying because I think I have killed them (continued)
I thought this because I had concerns about the temperature (we heat with a wood stove and it get’s cold in my room, which is pretty far from the stove, I have a small lamp next to the tank, but I was worried it was too cold. I also was scared because my mom got me a jug of “drinking” water, not distilled (I forgot to tell her to get distilled) AND I was worried because I put the eggs in 30 minutes early, So I thought I had killed them for sure. It got lint and dog hair in it when I left the lid off when I went to church, I aerated it before I went, just in case there was maybe one egg left to hatch. I got mad when I saw the hair and lint and said (to the tank) Here! why don’t I just go ahead and put food in too, since I have already screwed it up so bad in the first place. (Remember, I thought they were all dead, not just unhatched, if I thought they would hatch, I would be a lot more patient) I immediately felt guilty and began aerating like crazy. Then I get mad again and poured…
the monkey water into a 16 ounce water bottle and rinsed the tank out and put fresh water in it (my mom had already said they would get me a new complete kit, so I was wondering what to do with the old tank) I tried putting my betta in there, but I figured out that 10 ounces is WAY too small for a betta, you don’t realize that when you are looking at the tank with the teeny tiny eggs in it, the tank looks pretty big, but when there is a 3 inch betta in there, it is really small, lol… So I put the betta back in the aquarium (he lives in a breeder box in my mom’s tropical aquarium because he attacks other fish) and rinsed it out again breifly and poured the monkey water back in, and then to my complete anger, I saw two flakes of betta food in there! I was about to pour them out… until! I looked closer and there was a tiny little baby monkey fluttering around in the water, and today there are at least 15 or 20, all happy, relatively healthy (i think) and I am glad.
The main issue with feeding too soon, like I did, is suffocation, but I aerate just about every 2 hours, except at night, but I aerate an extra long time then, and the monkeys are so cute! I wish the papers they had given me warned about the white flecks, because if I had known they weren’t sea-monkey bodies, I would have patiently waited for the eggs to hatch, but I didn’t know that they weren’t bodies, so I got upset… I do have one question though…. What is YOUR crazy sea monkey story? (I don’t mean in the kooky “my seamonkeys give me kisses” way, unless you want to, but if you have a story like mine, please share it, they are fun to read, especially if the monkey’s survived!)
And also, does anyone know of a few websites that treat Sea-Monkeys like pets and not toys? The official website treats them like toys in my opinion and I have already checked out sea monkey worshipa nd sea monkey mania, are there any others?
Hey, jon, I don’t need your sarcasm. I know they are “just” brine shrimp, but I still like them, The same way people like hermit crabs, even though they are “just” crabs. It doesn’t matter what they are, if you like them, you like them and thats it. I also like bonsai, I consider them pets in a way, I water them, I feed them plant food, I make sure they get enough light and are well groomed so they don’t grow lopsided. If you stop being a jerk and look at things as living things, you will see that they all deserve respect. I don’t need anger management, it is not like I lobbed the tank through my bedroom window and screamed my curses into the night sky, I was passively angry and took out my frustrations on the water. The sea monkey’s are still doing awesomely and I think they are going to be happy now that I have them on this oxygen and heat schedule…. And I have hobbies, I have bonsai, writing, gardening, my pets and reading, plus a little doodling. So stop being mean to me.

Do curtains have teeth?

Whilst I was standing, contemplating, beside my window I felt a pinch on my foot. I looked down and lo and behold, there was blood seeping from an open wound. Now it could have been my dog, but I’m pretty sure old Buster wasn’t in the room at the time. The only other pet I have is a solitary sea monkey and I could see him in his watery dwelling place at the time of the incident. I know this sounds strange, I know this sounds unfathomable, but I’m beginning to wonder, do curtains have teeth? I would be most grateful for any advice oor if you would be so kind as to share your own near-death experiences with your curtains. Yours truly Bessie B
