My brothers friend went to upstate n.y. and caught a baby common eel and brought it back here. he said he dosent want it anymore so i said i would take care of it. I dont know what to feed it or how i should set the tank up. I am going to try daphnia or brine shrimp and feed that to it tomorrow. I dont know what plants to put with it, or if it needs to hide, or if it even likes plants and all of that stuff.

1.Do u think a baby fire eel would be fine feeding off of frozen brine shrimp at
first or is their something else i must get that is a necessaty.
2.One more question does it matter if the water is really clear or not because I have sand in mine. Thanks for your time
Hello. I have a tire track eel, and he’s been eating like crazy. I feed him lots of earthworms, sometimes brine shrimp, and I’m pretty sure he’s the culprit that ate two of my small iridescent sharks (I though they were big enough so he wouldn’t be able to eat them), and right now he’s huge. I’m wondering if tire track eels can over eat themselves on food. His belly is *very* large and I’m wondering if I should try feeding him less. I also have two fire eels who are eating fine (they only seem to be interested in some earthworms and sometimes brine shrimp, I’m not sure what else they’d go for), and not eat so excessively as the tire track. I just want to make sure they won’t gorge themselves, or if they at least know when to stop. Thanks.
