cycling question….or-uncycling….?

alo everyone. yesterday i went to petsmart to get an aquaclear filter and i also bought bloodworms (frozen) since the dwarf puffers werent eating their brine shrimp. now i got home and they LOVED the worms. but the problem is, today, the power went out. so the filter didnt work, obviously, and the fish were swimming near the top of the sides. now, i hear that means they are bored, but they never did that until today; it think they were looking for oxygen. so i bouught a battery opperated air pump: good. so i went to feed them their worms, and i dropped like a hundred in there! =/ i got as most as i could out, but an hour later, they were still munching on them. ughh, so yeah, i’m figuring theyll die. but my question is, the guy at the fish store said to do a water change. if i do this, will that uncycle the tank? because onnce im done doing that, and the water is good again (not dirty with shrimp and worm remains) i want to get more dwarfs, but will i have to recycle it again or not???

Betta Flaring At Background?

I just got my betta the other day, he is in a 10 gallon heated and filter tank with only an African Dwarf Frog and a snail. Thing is she keeps flaring and trying to fight by background. I have never seen this before could it be because the background has a lot of the same color as her (black and red)? Do I need to remove the background…I know it healthy for her to flare to a point but I also don’t want to stress her.

Also my African Dwarf Frog will not eat and none of my food sinks (and I have limited options on food because all I have where I live is walmart) would it be okay if I got sea monkeys and feed him them as long as I rinsed them in fresh water first, since all they are is brine shrimp. I could use a turkey baster to do it I just need food that sinks.

Live food- Brine Shrimp?

How can I make sure my percula clownfish get to baby brine shrimp before the filter does. My clowns just don’t seem to notice the shrimp so usually they drift towards the filter inlet and get eaten by my filter.

Help me feed my platies!?

I have 3 platies. I also have a 10 gallon community tank. The platies almost NEVER come up to the surface which makes it hard for feeding in the 10 gallon, and the other fish also eat up the food so fast it’s almost impossible for the food to sink down to them. In the breeding tank, the food gets sucked up and blown around by the filter and I can’t turn it off to feed them because it’s a hassle to start up again. How can I make the pellets, bloodworms and/or brine shrimp that all float, sink down for the platies to eat? I’m worried about them not eating especially because one of the female platies looks pregnant.

I just fed my goldfish a couple of brine shrimp?

and 1 got sucked into the filter – should I clean the filter straight away?????????????
