My guppies are swimming upside down, spiralling, their equilibrium is off.?
My guppies are acting more strange than usual. I have a 20 gallon tank set up as a winter time haven for my small tropical fish. In summer they thrive in an outdoor pond. This particular aquarium has been set up for about 3 months now. The guppies are mixed in with many Mollies, also breeers and a few cordroy(?) catfish who are the tank janitors. There are fish in all developmental stages within the tank. I just cleared up a fungal infection with Melaffix, which worked great but my Guppies are now swimming erratically, either spiralling quickly, swimming upside down, “scraping” themselves on the bottom etc….It seems that the affected are starting this at maybe a month or 6 weeks of age and older. I do regular water changes. I feed live brine shrimp as a supplement. I have added “Shimmy blocks” within the last week to help condition the water, but ammonia levels and ph are kept under tight control anyway and the mollies and catfish seem fine. Help!
my salamander needs help?
i have a 15 gallon tank the wtaer depth is about 8 inches. i have 1 sword tail fish 6 fancy guppis and 2 zebras plus 1 salamander. the fishes are all eating the brine shrimps before the salamander can eat it wut should i do?
African Dwarf Frog?
I just bought an african dwarf frog. It died after 6 days of having it. It was in a tank with two other tropical fish in a 5 or 6 gallon tank. I tried to feed it Frozen Brine Shrimp, and Baby Shrimp. I think it died from starvation. Did I feed it wrong, or did I give it the wrong food?? Would bloodworms work better?
Can you keep erectus with miniature seahorses?
I have a portioned off “refugium” in my 55 gallon tank, with all sorts of macro-algae, rotifers, microorganisms, etc in it.
Since both seahorses come from the same habitat (the gulf of Mexico) can I keep them together?
Miniatures would be wild caught and erectus would be from captive bred sources…. or is it more of an issue/problem to mix captive bred with wild caught than to mix the species?
PS: I have a great brine shrimp hatchery system going for the miniatures, and the petstore with frozen food for the erectus is just up the street
would 5 neon tetras and 2 african dwarf frogs fit into a 5 gallon tank together?
also i recently got another dwarf frog (so that makes the 2) and after he was in the tank for a while i noticed a white little thread of something. is it the fungus or just some skin they shed? im putting the frozen brine shrimp in with fish flakes for them to eat .would that be ok. and after i added 3 more tetras and another african dwarf frog the tank has gotten much dirtier faster even w/ the filter what can i do.now i have 5 tetras and 2 dwarf frogs but should i get another tank or get rid of some. and lastly what if the frogs mate and how can i stop them?
and i’ve looked up info on them but could anybody give me some websites or good info?
ok yesterday one of the neon tetras got caught in a plant and died. so now would it be fine?
ok most of you were right. another fish died so now i have 3 tetras and 2 frogs but that should be fine. i cleaned out the tank and put in a new filter cartridge but the 2 that died were the new ones and maybe they were sick. Anyway they’re all healthy looking and have been fine. Please give a response and maybe a website i could visit to get more info.
