I went to the LFS looking for a ghost shrimp to scavenge excess food flakes off the bottom of the tank – they have been out of ghost shrimp for like two months, and I really wanted one of those….
Well, they had baby blue lobsters….maybe an inch long….and I asked if they would scavenge food the same way…they said sure….I asked if he would be alright in a five gallon tank with other fish…they said sure…
Now I’m having the feeling that I was bamboozled.
So here are my questions…
Said inch long baby blue Australian lobster is in a 5 gallon tank with one very young female swordtail I’m holding for someone, and a 3/4 inch fercata rainbow….I feed them frozen daphnia, frozen brine shrimp and flakes…will he eat those things, should I feed him sinking wafers, or will he eat my fish?
My instincts say he’s a hunting critter – he’s going to hunt if given the chance.
