why did my BGK die?

i have a 55g tank that has been cycled. i have 35lbs of blk gravel, three decent size ornaments to sim tree stump and rocks, and tank is kept at around 76 degrees F. i have 1 crown betta, and 4 zebera, and had the BGK that died. i did a 15-20% water change a week before i got the knife. the BGK was in my tank for 3 days and it was acclimated. i feed dried blood worms and frozen brine shrimp. i do bw in the morning and then some at night with the brine shrimp. light is left on for about 6-8hrs then i have a blue neon light i turn on at night around 10pm and stays on till about 8am. am i doing anything wrong. this is my first fw tank in a long time. i had to sell my sw tank and fish cuz i moved from georgia up north. oh its a new tank not used and my water tests are high PH- 7.4
PH- 7.6 Ammonia- .25 Nitrite- .25 and nitrate- 5.0 ive been wanting to add some simple live plants and im taking the BGK back to the petstore with a water sample so i can get refund as directed
please dont leave an answer just to get points i hate when people do that. leave some information that i can use and better my tank.

Feeding live Brine Shrimp?

I’m currently cycling an Eclipse 5 gallon corner fish tank (freshwater) housing a single juvenile Zebra Danio and an African Dwarf Frog. My equipment includes a bio-wheel filter, hood lamp, air stone, large gravel substrate and a 25-watt Top Fin heater that is currently set at low and produces a consistent water temp. of 77.5 degrees. (sorry if this was all useless info!)

Basically, I’m looking to diversify/enhance said Danio’s & ADF’s current diet of flake food and frozen blood worms. Preferably, I’d like to find a local pet store (Seattle area) that sells ready-to-feed live brine shrimp. Setting up a mini-hatchery in my tiny ass apartment seems like a hassle (let me know of any possible mis-conceptions I may have about this!), although if no better options present themselves, I’ll make it work.

Can anyone share their experience feeding live Brine Shrimp? How often/how much should I feed? How do I make sure the ADF gets his fair share of live Brine Shrimp?

Regards!
I’m sticking with a single Zebra Danio just until the tank has finished cycling.

New fish questions?

Okay, yesterday I got 3 scissortail rasboras. They are doing great. They were the only fish in a 55 gallon tank, perfect water conditions and a temperature of 75 degrees fahrenheit. I have an undergravel filter, plants, rocks, driftwood and gravel. Today I got 2 red platys and 1 pleco. We got the pleco algae wafers. I have a few feeding questions:

Can I feed both the platys and the rasboras tropical flakes, frozen peas and some iceberg lettuce (last two sparingly). Would the platys like brine shrimp like the rasboras?

Will the pleco be okay with the small fish as he gets older?

When should I start feeding the new fish?

Thank you so much!

I’m starting a new tank with a Betta and a African Dwarf Frog, any suggestions?

I have a 5 Gallon Tank. With a Whisper Power Filter, Medium. I plan to lower the current somehow. Although my Tank is cycling right now, I have a couple of questions. I Put gravel, Silk plants and a little decorations, no Chemicals to water yet, And in my last pH test, a 7.6. I will put API’s Stress Coat. WIll this harm the frog? And if it will, what other Dechlorinizer should I use? I hate a heater in there, and I unplugged it because of the temperature. I Have an Air stone in there. And will be feed my Frog Frozen Brine Shrimp. My Betta some Freeze Dried Brine Shrimp, Blood WOrms, and Frozen Brine Shrimp. And I will add some live plants. Most likely a plant called “Betta Bulbs.” Well.. That’s the product name.

Main Questions:
Will Stress Coat be ok for an African Dwarf Frog?
Is there any sorta food needed for the Frog?
What should the pH level be for both?
Will they get along happily?
Any other live plants that both would like?
How can I lower the current from my filter?
Will Stress Zyme harm any of them?
Does a frog need a varied diet?
If it needs a Varied diet, What do I feed it?
Can the frog live in an aquarium with some Aquarium Salt?
