What in the world am I brewing??

I am feeding 7 day old baby Oscar fry fresh hatched brine shrimp. While watching them feed I see several squirming things swimming among the fry. They are smaller, but at first glance look like very small fry. They are much bigger than the brine shrimp. I can see them a little better with a magnifying glass. After being removed from the tank they appear more “wormy” either dark green or black. I have tried to Google images but got no where. I yanked ‘em out and put ‘em in a jar with their own brine shrimp…thought maybe if they survive I could identify them better. Any ideas? parasite, larvae??? Wonder if I’m introducing them along with the brine shrimp or if they were there and I’m just now noticing…eeewww!
Well, I am kinda ruling out fish lice.Looked at a couple sites…not relating much. Much more wormy looking, and squiggles at the top of the water. These things are definitely visible but small enough to not get a lot of detail. I don’t see any legs but the body seems a bit like the dragonfly body…thing is I am in the middle of the suburbs no water sources other than my tank and spring hasn’t really hit here. hmmm. My adults seem perfectly healthy, no signs of any ailments. No problems until I put in the brine shrimp but may not have a thing to do with it. Just don’t want to have some nasty stuff in the tank.
Okay, maybe we’re on to something here. The Midge thing seems to fit. I am seeing a few of those flying insects…the larvae is about as long as they are!..So everything should be cool?http://www.naturegrid.org.uk/biodiversity/invert/midges.html

Betta is Not Eating, and has Possible FIN ROT?? (pic inside)?

I got my Betta about a week ago, and as soon as i set up his tank i fed him 3 pellets he only ate One and the rest sank to the bottom, now i only try giving him one and he swims quickly up to it brings it into his mouth and then spits it out… he looks relitivly Healthy he swims and moves alot.. but then i noticed he might have FIN ROT!!!!!!! his fins dont look damaged in anyway he just had black on them but its hard to tell because he has a dark face.. so it might be just his Colouring?? Anyways what can i feed him other than pellets? i read that bettas only eat pellets when they are STARVING.. i know there is bloodworms and shrimp brines? but that stuff constipates them and are only treats? right?… Oh and hes not constipated i know that forsure… Also how can i treat this possible fin rot? i read that a bit of Aquarium salt works.. but is that even true?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

My aquarium fish look like they are starving?

My one aquarium of platies (also called moons) are dieing and I don’t know what it is from. I get them and they are healthy looking with no normal signs of being sick or stressed. They have the rounded bellies (like platies have), but after a couple weeks their bellies get flat looking and when I see that, they die within a day or two. I have had fish and aquariums for years, but have never seen this. I have done several treatments of binox (broad spectrum for illness) and also had done several treatments for external and internal parasites. But they contiue to look like they are just waisting away. I feed them good quality flake food, vegetable base foods, frozen brine shrimp, frozen blood worms, and frozen tubafex worms. Also put in fresh veggies for them to eat. I give them a well varied seletion of foods. My ph and ammonia levels are fine,as is all the other levels for a good healthy aquarium. Anyone have any idea what is happening? How to stop it?
