These lookers are the best representatives of The Dovii Project’s first breeding I did back in 2006- Stud1 to Butch. I put alot of time and money into these fry. They ate live brine shrimp for most of their fryhood and when they moved onto the 1-2″ class they ate hikari freeze dried bloodworms, brine shrimp, tube worms, spectrum flakes, sometimes brine. There was one mutant male which was always two or three times bigger than his siblings and would eat one of them daily. He made the first cut, where i chose the best 6 males, but he would not make the next cut since he did not have the color or outgoing attitude i was looking for (very shy). There was another competitor for top male but, although he had all the best color early on, did not have the size nor appetite that this one had. They all passed the ultimate test when when I took a bunch of them on the road to ACA 2006. When i brought some of them back, many had died on the way, over there, on the way back or when i put them back in the home tank. Later on there was a ich outbreak where many were killed off. These two (an the others that survived) represent the strongest from this breeding. I sold the some in maryland to LFS like Gaithersburg, Totally Fish and Scales. There are others floating around since i gave some away at ACA and other places here and there. I know of someone who has some siblings that are already 10+! However these two you are looking at, graduated top of their class! This is my Homegrown line …
