Why are my baby Mollys suddenly dieing one by one?

I had about 18 baby mollys in a 2.5 gallon tank but they were dieing one by one in it. So i moved them into the 30 gallon tank with the bigger fish (i used a tank divider so they have about one fifth of the tank. There side includes the heater and a small artificial plant. I notice a baby molly with get slow and stick toward the bottom of the tank but swim up during feeding.I feed them live baby brine shrimp, crushed flakes, regular freeze dried brine shrimp, and i used to feed them first bites. I have had them for about 6 months and they are about half a inch, I just added 2 pregnet mollies to there side of the tank and a baby molly who grew up with them most of there lives (i could only find one baby guppy when i got home). I have it filtered, airstone, heated, and the nitate cycle is fine. I had the water tested with Ph nitrate ext. This is when all y angel fish died and it turned out to be a Ph problem but i fixed it. I also notice some baby mollys eyes look cloudy and swollen. Thanks
They are in a 30 gallon tank with a divider and it is heated, filtered and has a pump. I also balanced out the Ph level that killed my angel fish. I treated the babies for ick about a day after they got into the tank because they had the disease. I also used water condition for cloarine and just changed the filter.

Filter Question/Problems?

My 20 gallon tank is a little on the full side, and does contain 15 small fish, all roughly 1″ or so in length. I’m using a bio-wheel filter that is meant for a 55 gallon tank. My water always stays crystal clear, and my ammonia, nitrite, nitrate etc, always look good. However I’m going through filters like crazy, I have to put a new filter cartridge in the filter about once a week, the filters I pull out are so clogged they won’t flow water. I’m feeding my fish a pre-measured amount of brine shrimp, once in the morning, once at night before I go to bed, so I don’t believe they are being over fed. I can’t find reuseable cartridges for my filter, so this is starting to get exspensive. Is there another type of filter I could use, perhaps a canister type filter?

I just can’t believe a filter should only last 7 days?
Thanks for the feedback so far, it seems that this is not normal, but why is my filter getting clogged up so quickly? Even if I rinse it out every other day or so I still only extend the life of it by a couple days.

I take it the reason comes down to an overstocked tank or not? Some people have said it is overstocked, some say its not?
Oh and some asked, about my water and filter.

I’ve just been using regular tap water, that is treated, and I add salt to it.

As for the filters, the only ones that fit my filter are the ones MarineLand makes for their bio wheel filters.

Who’s the oldest member of your family?

My grandmother just turned 94 about 5 years older than her side of the family usually lives.

My Dad side usually lives on avarage 102 years, barring the existence of terminal illness.

So I got 78 years left before I have to worry. . .ugn.

What about you?

Does your family die young like Sea Monkeys? or do they live as old as time?
