Are my fish sick?

I have a 20 gallon tank. We went on vacation for a week, the in-laws extremely overfed our fish. The fish weren’t fat or anything the water was just a horrible dark brown. I did water changes until it was clear again. Took care of the tank for a week, and then had to go out of town for 2-weeks. My wife fed the fish during this time. For some reason half of the fish died, and one of our snails died. One of the fish that died after I came back was ballooned up to about 3 times his normal size. None of the other fish that died balloned up like this. None of my x-ray tetras have been showing any signs of being ill, its been the other fish so far. Except now one is having trouble floating, he’s always sinking, still swims around and eats though. I’ve been feeding them a varierty of sinking food, flake food and every now and then brine shrimp.

Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate levels are all fine, and this is an established tank. Could there be something wrong with my tank?
I want to add fish, but I don’t want to possibly put new fish into a sick tank.

I’ve thought about adding some sort of medication (suggestions?) to the tank but I’ve heard some of those wipe out the good bacteria in the tank too, and I don’t want to do that if its not necessary.

I do use aquarium salt in the tank.

Advice needed for sick drawf (freshwater) puffers.?

African (Malawi) cichlid tank. 75 gallons, established. PH 7.5-8.0. Chichlid salt used. No plants, only rockscape. Bought 6 puffers ~8 weeks ago. Feed mosquito larvae, brine shrimp, krill. I feed them once a day. Occasionally skip a day. Also pellet, flake, cichlid food. The puffers don’t seem to eat these. No signs of illness. No problems with other fish in the tank. Found three of the puffers dead, two days ago. One is now sick. THe other two lay on the bottom but seem to have revived and are swimming around None of them have looked sick- no ich, fungus, etc. Help. I really like these guys and am not sure what to do. Is the Ph too high for them? Not enough or too muh salt? No cover? Wrong food? looked them up on the net but cannot find the answers to these questions. I have a community tank and a guppy tank I could move them to if the ph is an issue (they are 7.0)- but if so, how do you do it without shocking them by the ph change? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My aquarium fish look like they are starving?

My one aquarium of platies (also called moons) are dieing and I don’t know what it is from. I get them and they are healthy looking with no normal signs of being sick or stressed. They have the rounded bellies (like platies have), but after a couple weeks their bellies get flat looking and when I see that, they die within a day or two. I have had fish and aquariums for years, but have never seen this. I have done several treatments of binox (broad spectrum for illness) and also had done several treatments for external and internal parasites. But they contiue to look like they are just waisting away. I feed them good quality flake food, vegetable base foods, frozen brine shrimp, frozen blood worms, and frozen tubafex worms. Also put in fresh veggies for them to eat. I give them a well varied seletion of foods. My ph and ammonia levels are fine,as is all the other levels for a good healthy aquarium. Anyone have any idea what is happening? How to stop it?
