how can they eat so much?!?

alright, this has been going on for a while and i need to know where my fish packs those pounds away! i have 3 fishes in a 50 gallon tank, we have plants n rocks n large shells and some fixtures that should serve as cover. well on Sunday my mom bought about 5 dozen guppies avg 2.5cm in length and probably 5 dozen brine shrimp also avg 2 cm in length. today is monday… and i cant find ANY guppies or shrimp!

heres what i got in the tank

a tiger oscar whose about 10 inches in length, had her for several years ever since she was little ^^

some unknown fish who manged to survive not being eaten by my oscar.. its around 4-5 inches in length and circle shaped with black stripes going down a silver body

and a recently added red tilapia who has added by my dad who came home from a fishing trip.. my dad threw it in and it sank to the bottom. he told me to lift it up holding it about 2 inches from the surface of the water to help it regain it self. and, well its scared but alive.
kinda ran out room but ya.. how can 3 fish, mostly just 2 because i doubt the tilapia ate anything being so scared, but ya… my fishes seem to never hunt during the day, because during the day food can swim right in front of her mouth and she does nothing.. but once night hits and i wake up the next morning half the tank is missing! lmao. so how can they eat 120 pieces of food within about 2 days and not be sluggish or tired looking or fat looking at all? either they have an insanely high metabolism or theres something else living in that tank…that foods supposed to last a at least a week or 2.. and with them eating a week+ worth of food in 2 days! WTH?! lol
authorization required for that site :/
i googled mono fish it and no its not that, this circular fish is more like a blue gill.. it has about 5 black stripes running down its plain grey/silver body. if the sun hits its side while no lights are on in the house it has a purpleish gleam
ahhhh one more question, we also had a 4inch Royal Catfish (black spotted lots of big fins), hoped it would help keep the tank clean.. along with some peach colored sucker fish.. and i think my fish ate those to o.O but the weird thing is waking up and not find any part of the fish left?! youd think if it was a big ol 4inch cat fish with lots of fins and also pretty fast you’d find some carcase left somewhere.. but there absolutely no trace at all ><
nope its not a tiger barb..

ya ive checked everywhere to see if they were hiding some where.. all i found was 1 lonely shrimp hanging out by the side of a rock..

its not really that many rocks n shells, we have 1 flat rock, 1 big shell, 2 plants.. 2 are floating, a small rock castle made of large-ish funky shaped rocks stacked on top of each other, and anchor looking thing, and a tunnel type thing. searched everyone.. and only that 1 shrimp was found.. and small shells are the place to. the bottom is all small rocks.. but still!!! how can they eat that much food in such a short period of time and not look any different?!

Do you think…?

Do you think I could raise a few comet goldfish in a 2.5 gallon tank for a while, until they get not too big, but not too small, and then transport them to a pond (it’ll either have koi or goldfish or both)? The goldfish would be about the size of a quarter of a pinky, or smaller. They would have perfect water, plants everything. They’ll be transported when they start looking a little big for the tank. They’ll get fed a great diet with peas, lettuce, brine shrimp and goldfish flakes.
The pond would be about 3000 or more gallons.
Thank you so much!
It would be only about 2 months or less when the goldfish would be in the small tank, I’d do water changes every week, or every two days. The fish would not be stunted.

Betta depressed after added snail?

About 4 days ago, I got a black mystery snail, and ever since then, my betta has been droopy and sitting at the bottom of his cage. once and a while he will swim around all excidetly, then 10 seconds later he will go to his regular position. I think I am doing everything right, though. His water temperature is between 75 and 82 usually, and he gets fed once a day. (he usually gets a mixture of freeze dired brine shrimp and flackes, but once and a while he gets frozen brine shrimp, or live ones) He has an air stone and a bubble fileter, and he gets 30-40% water changes weekly. I also clean out the filter every month or month and a half. I usually add a pinch of aqarium salt to relieve stress, (when I bought him he had fin rot and ich), and i use de-chlorination drops before adding new water. So what is wrong with my betta? Is he depressed? please help!!!!!!
I got him early september of last year…….so it was w hile ago. The poeple at petsmart told me to keep adding a bit of salt though.

He is in a 2.5 gallon tanks, and he has the kind of filter with an air stone, then a tube where bubbles come oout of.
no, I didn’t put the water in with the snail, I just took him out and plopped him right on in there.
ohhhh i 4got. I treated him with a thing called betta fix rememdy, which was though to clear up both ich and fin rot, and it did!

Pellet train a fish…?

I bought needlefish a while back. At the store he only ate feeders. I attempted to starve him. I waited three days and he ate nothing so I gave him feeders. After he was well adjusted I tried again and its like he doesnt even notice the pellets floating there. Then I tried some frozen brine shrimp. Waited 3 days without feeders, put the frozen brine shrimp in, not only did he ignore it but actually swam away from it. Now I haven’t put feeders in for a day and the last time I did I dont think he got any so it’s probably been about 3 or 4 days but I know for sure atleast a day. I put some frozen krill into the tank with no results again. He just let it go right by him. Any suggestions how to get him to eat frozen food?

Can I cultivate Algae from sea monkey food?

My sea monkeys died and I don’t want to get any more for a while, I want to cultivate the algae in the food (for no reason, just curiosity) I have the whole packet of algae in the water under a florescent bulb with a bubbler in there… I have the tiny tank tool and a peice of stocking in there to begin the culture, will it grow???
Thanks, I don’t know if the algae will grow because I used a little bit of miracle grow in the water I used to add to the tank (after the monkeys died, they died from low temps) Right now I think the algae cultures haw enough air, because they are in a 20 ounce bottle with a 5 gallon aquarium air pump, I am concerned about light, though, The water is really dark, but I have it right under the light…. I don’t know why I am growing it, I can’t put any animals in it to eat the algae, since they are growing in a small amount of miracle grow.
