I have a 6 gallon tank. 2 months ago I had 4 fish: a cory catfish, a female betta, and 2 otos. They had all been in the tank for a year and were doing fine.

Three weeks ago, I found the Cory dead in the bottom. He had been acting lethargic. Now my betta just sits on the bottom and seems unhappy. Otos seem fine.

I always do a weekly 50% water change and treat the new water with a dechlorinator before pouring it in. Tank is kept between 79-81 degrees. PH is high, but that never bothered the fish before and people have told me to leave it alone. I feed them every other day with either blood worms, brine shrimp or flake food. Pet sitter fed them just flake food.

One thing I noticed when I tested the water yesterday is that the ammonia was kind of high, especially for an established tank. Nitrate and nitrate are zero. Last test showed zero ammonia and nitrite, very low nitrate. Not sure what happened. Did a 50% water change. Didn’t seem to help. Don’t see any signs of ich or parasites.
Also, I went on vacation for a week a couple months ago and the pet sitter overfed them. Came back and the tank was filthy. I did a 65% water change and siphoned as much food out as possible.

Brine shrimp i’ve been feeding them, are they sick? or is it because they just dont want food? i feed them every other day like what the pet store told me.

My angelfish just laid eggs, for the first time in over a year. I had them for about a year and a half and they spawned in the summer. They spawned 3 times over a period of months… It has been another year and a half since the last spawn. I successfully got 4 angelfish fry to live for a while, moving them to a community tank. They lived for a few months, then one of the angelfish that was bigger I think picked on them. They all ended up dying somehow >< We moved houses actually since there last breed. Finally they bred again! Anyways, I got a bunch of eggs now. The eggs have hatched, I think, there are little bodies hanging from the filter tube now (thats where the eggs were laid). They just hatched a few hours ago, I think, this morning they were still eggs. Anyways, what should I do? Last time I moved them into a 5 gallon tank. Fed them fry food, and a little bit of baby brine shrimp (I could not produce that many quick enough to feed them.) So should I move them now?

guilty about this. well i was over at my mom’s friend’s house with her. and the boy’s he had( my mom’s friend) had sea monkey’s. and i was looking at them and holding the container or whatever they were in and i spilled it by mistake. and he said. oh no, you killed my sea monkey’s. should i worry about this or do you think they are just sea monkey’s. p.s. this happened a few year’s ago.

I was thinking about ordering some on ebay for my 4 year old…but don’t want them to become a hastle. Do you have to buy food for them all the time? I live in Hawaii don’t think they sell the food.
